Visit Galveston's website or stop by one of the visitor centers for information on the many things to see and do in Galveston including Moody Gardens hotel, rain forest, IMAX 3D Theatre, 4D Special FX Theatre and Ridefilm Theatre, white sand beach, playground, aquarium, discovery museum, and even a paddlewheeler. Moody Mansion, Ashton Villa, Bishops Palace, and the Michel B. Mernard Home are just a few of the historical homes to view.
The Strand Historic District is now famous for its shopping and cuisine. Schlitterbahn Galveston Island Water Park is the world first convertible water park with an indoor /outdoor section for year round fun, and Pier 21 offers Galveston Harbor Tours, The Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig Museum, Pier 21 Theatre, The Texas Seaport Museum and more. Many major cruise lines now depart from the Galveston Pier. Galveston Island Ferry riders can park and ride or drive their vehicle aboard the ferry to visit the Bolivar Peninsula.
